B&B Bellavista

Mr. Claudio was so warm and friendly. Bellavista is a charming B&B in a central spot, handy for the village and nearby amenities. Our room was spotless, and so was the linen. Highly recommended.

The owner pointed us to a small square about 50 meters from the B&B for parking, and gave us a ticket to put on the dashboard. It was included in the room rate. He also suggested a good trattoria for dinner. We only stayed one night, my wife and I, to see Civita and Orvieto. The B&B is at the entrance to Bagnoregio's historic center, and close to tourist sights like Orvieto, though you can find a room at a more affordable price. Ours was on the ground floor, basically dug into the tuff rock, and very clean, as were the sheets and towels. In the morning, the owner gave us a ticket for two for breakfast at a café in the historic center. It was very ordinary. I think they stopped serving breakfast at the B&B because of COVID-19. The owner was down-to-earth, kind, and helpful. I'd recommend the place if you're after somewhere simple, characteristic, clean, and affordable.

We slept well, and the parking was handy, included in the price, with amenities close by. The room itself had a strange, maybe musty smell, and its small divided bathroom was hard to get into. Breakfast was mediocre, mostly packaged products, perhaps because of the COVID period. Staff were helpful, though a little distracted. We were given the wrong contact number. It was a human error, but they could have been more careful. The property has potential.

The breakfast area in the cave deserves a special mention. The house used to be part of a monastery where the last four friars lived until a few years ago. The owners were incredibly helpful despite our unusual cycling schedule.
