The stream behind the house was my favorite part at night. It was such a nice sound to fall asleep to. This rustic little hotel made a lovely base after exploring the mountains, and it’s very family friendly. The restaurant food was great, too, and the owners and staff were thoughtful and so welcoming.

This is just about the food. We ordered sandwiches with a soft cheese instead of bagoss, and they still came to 6 euros each. The ingredients were clearly good quality, but once we added a drink, the total felt far too high. A shame, really, it left a bad taste.

This review is only about the grocery store. We bought two pieces of bagòs, each 1.5 kg when we weighed them at home, plus two half-kilo jars of honey. The bill was 63 euros. What was it, a Carlo Cracco fillet steak? Never again.

If you’re passing through the Dorizzo Valley, drop into the grocery store by the REMAL campsite. It’s a good spot for a break and a speck and bagoss sandwich, as well as a store. I had a really positive experience there. Paolo and Alessia were kind and helpful, and I also met their son Filippo, who seems like a great example for the next generation. Stop in, you won’t regret it.
