Hotel la Bisaccia

Even the drinks at the bar and from the minibar felt a bit pricey, and our room could have used more plug sockets. The ones that were there weren’t installed very well. That was a small drawback in an otherwise magical stay. We had a Nelson suite, room 7, with wonderful sea views towards other parts of the island and the La maddalena archipelago. The room and sunsets were gorgeous. Our included dinners were four courses, with four choices for each course that changed nightly. The food was delicious and nicely presented, and the staff were attentive while giving us space. Thank you to all the amazing staff. We also took a boat trip from the hotel jetty and spent a magical day exploring nearby islands, swimming in clear water and seeing loads of fish, even around the hotel beaches. For gelato, make sure to stop at ‘mr ice’ down the road in the little square.

We spent a dreamy week at Hotel La Bisaccia at the end of May, and it was an unforgettable holiday. From our balcony there was a breathtaking sea view, and the hotel is less than 100 meters from the private beach and a short walk from the charming town center and its shops. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, towels changed regularly, and soap and shampoo replenished. Housekeeping even folded my training pants and placed them on the pillow, tidied the balcony chairs and reliably restocked the minibar with fresh items. We had half board and loved the food. Breakfast had fresh fruit, croissants, muesli, toast, cheeses, cold cuts, juices and a dessert buffet. Dinner was four courses, with three or four options for each course: appetizer, two main courses and dessert. The food was consistently fresh, flavorful, skillfully prepared authentic Italian cooking. The wine suggestions were excellent, and the wine was served at just the right temperature. We finished each evening with a drink at the pool bar. The sea view and relaxed atmosphere were lovely, and there was live music in the nearby pavilion. The pianist was outstanding, with real technical skill and musical depth, from the softest pianissimo to grand fortissimo. His Italian classics were a particular treat. Reception staff were consistently friendly and attentive, and we felt welcome and well cared for. One small criticism: at times, one staff member seemed more focused on her freshly done nails and adjusting her glasses than on guests. It barely affected our otherwise very positive impression. We’d return in a heartbeat. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Hotel La Bisaccia team.

It’s easy to reach other beaches in the area from this hotel, and its location right by a beautiful beach is perfect. Breakfast was very good too. But the hotel and rooms are outdated, and it feels extremely expensive for what you get. If you have dinner there, expect very small portions and huge prices. Some staff were pleasant and nice, while others could improve their manners.

The hotel is kept clean, and staff are generally polite and welcoming, though some team members could use a more polite approach. Its location is convenient for the main Costa Smeralda beaches, and the secured parking was useful. It’s very expensive, and the rooms don’t offer what they should for that price.
