The owners were so caring and helpful. The day before we left, I needed a Covid test, but all the nearby labs were closed. They called around until they found one in another village, about 30 minutes away, then offered to drive me. I spent about three hours waiting for the test and results, and the owner stayed the whole time so I could get back to the B&B. What service! We’d definitely return to Sicily and stay here again. It was our first visit to Sicily, and we felt at home in this lovely B&B. Our room was comfortable and cleaned every day, with fresh sheets and towels. Breakfast was served each morning. I prefer savory food, but I learned that sweet breakfasts are typical in Italy, and my daughters loved their daily Nutella. We also tried a traditional Sicilian dinner at Girasole, cooked by the mother of one of the owners. It was special and delicious, with many ingredients from their own garden.

The owners' hospitality is what really makes Il Girasole special. Alessandro and Valentina are so friendly and kind, and always ready to help with what guests need. They even lend out bicycles, beach chairs, and umbrellas, which made us feel looked after. The house is simple, but impeccably clean and well maintained. Its location is handy for exploring Balestrate and the area around it. We had a warm, pleasant stay. Recommended if you're looking for simplicity, cleanliness, and above all, a human touch.

Alessandro and Valentina lent us bicycles, umbrellas, and beach toys for free, and served a delicious, varied breakfast on a lovely shaded terrace. We also enjoyed the seasonal organic fruit from their garden. Their passion and hospitality made us feel right at home, and we'd be thrilled to return soon. We spent a week at B&B Il Girasole between July and August 2025. The location is perfect: a quiet street, with a free, well-equipped beach a few hundred meters away. An excellent seafood restaurant and Balestrate's historic ice cream shop are just steps away, while the pedestrian area with its bars, restaurants, and lively nightlife is only 200 meters away. We had no trouble parking, and the train station is just around the corner, so we could leave the car behind. The room was spotlessly clean. The bedroom and bathroom were tidied daily, and the linens changed every other day.

The kitchen and terrace are spacious and super welcoming, and breakfast was top-notch! Everything was clean and well kept, with a harmonious, family-friendly feel. The owners are lovely, warm-hearted people, very friendly and easy to talk to, and always available. Thank you for everything!

After five nights here, I can say the breakfast was amazing and the family treated guests as if they were newborns needing care. They're respectful and attentive to everything.
