We loved the spacious rooms and how well equipped they were. There was even stuff here I could use at home! The pool was the best I’ve had the pleasure of using in Italy, clean, beautifully maintained, and so refreshing. There are also three of the friendliest dogs, a couple of cats, and several geese. The hosts are lovely, the views are brilliant, and the area and its people are delightful. One thing to be ready for: English isn’t widely spoken, so you’ll need to try your Italian. I’ll definitely work on mine before the next visit. Thoroughly recommended!

The pool was splendid, and it’s a great place to stay.

We could hear the nearby river, which made the stay feel wonderfully relaxing. The owner was friendly and knew a lot about local attractions. The little house had everything we needed, plus a lovely terrace. It sits between the road and river; in January the road was quiet and didn’t disturb us. There’s plenty to do in the area, even though it doesn’t seem to get many visitors.

We spent two and a half weeks here and found it a wonderful little paradise near the national park, well away from mass tourism and rip-offs. The hosts are incredibly friendly and know a great deal about the area’s culture and history. The pool is unbeatable at 25m x 5m. The rooms have no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan, but that was sufficient. There’s a small kitchen, a large refrigerator, a lovely terrace, and everything was spotlessly clean. The property also has four friendly dogs and seven geese, which thrilled the children. Wi-Fi worked on the terrace and by the pool, so we could alternate exploring for a day with relaxing poolside the next. The location is fantastic, with the highway to Avezzano-Sora just a four-minute drive away. In Balsorano Nuovo there’s a great pizzeria/restaurant with delicious food at low prices, several small shops and supermarkets, and a small gas station. Temperatures averaged 4-5 degrees lower than in Avezzano, Tivoli, and Sora.
