La Canonica di Cortine

The house was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The property is beautiful, even better than the photos, and the garden and pool are lovely and well kept. The gardener checked us in and was so friendly. It's such a relaxing place, and we'd happily recommend a stay. Thanks for the hospitality!

We'd read some lovely reviews, but our honeymoon arrival was a very different experience. After a two-hour drive, we reached the hotel and found the gate shut, so we rang the bell. A few minutes later a man opened the door only halfway and rudely asked why we were there. We said we had a reservation. He told us we couldn't stay, and seemed to be about to say goodbye at the door again, so we walked inside. He called his wife Lucia, while continuing to say we couldn't stay. We had a booking confirmation, but he didn't seem to care. He said the room wasn't available and told us either to cancel our reservation or book four nights that day. In other words, we had to take four nights or leave and find somewhere else. The staff at reception were incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. I've travelled all over the world and never written a review before, but this left me stunned. We didn't see the property, and the atmosphere made us not want to stay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We had a memorable stay, with lovely views and a calm, relaxing feel. The rooms are charming, decorated with regional pieces, and the staff are very friendly. There are a few good restaurants just a short drive away, within a few kilometres.

In the middle of Tuscany, this amazing place feels like a little medieval village. Stefano, Lucia, Andrea, and the staff are special people who take care of all the details their guests need.
