Staying at Charming Villa Marcialla feels like stepping back in time. It’s a beautiful place with a lot of history, and a relaxing spot to call home while you’re away. Simone, the owner, was welcoming and helpful. Daniele and Caterina, the caretakers, were polite and courteous, as was their sweet dog Kira. I recommend it.

The owner hosting us was far from charming. He was a grumpy presence hanging around during our stay, making arbitrary rules and complaining about energy use. The villa itself was okay. The last entry in the guest book was two months old, and several pages after it had been torn out, which didn’t surprise me.

What a lovely place tucked away. The architecture and charm are beautiful. We were lucky enough to have the owner cook dinner for us, and it was the best.
