Hotel Taormina

We liked sitting on the veranda with a coffee, spritz, or beer in the late afternoon, though there were sometimes mozzies around. The continental breakfast was ample and had a good selection. It’s served in a nice dining room, and your room number is your table number, so there’s no fuss over finding a seat. The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. It’s a great little family-run hotel in a quiet spot, just a two-minute walk from the town center and the bus stop in the other direction. Rooms are basic but clean, and the bathrooms are very clean, though a little dated.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and the hotel was spotlessly clean, even though the decor was dated. It was closing the day we left for a major upgrade. The plans look fantastic, and the place will be totally different when it reopens next year.

We had a great room, and it was cleaned every day, which was spot on. Breakfast was great, too. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the owners, Laura and Giovanni, were perfect hosts. We stayed for seven nights, would happily recommend the hotel to friends and family, and would definitely come back to the area.

The staff were lovely and even helped carry our bags, which I really appreciated. There’s no lift, though, so the stairs could be hard for someone with less mobility. I manage them slowly with my stick. We’ve stayed twice and had a great experience both times. The rooms were spotless, with effective air conditioning, a little balcony, bathroom, plenty of luggage storage, useful bedside drawers, and a comfortable bed. Taormina is right by the main part of town, with easy access to the town, the lakefront, and the bus station for trips farther out. We’d happily come back.
