La Vignola

The owner was very kind and helpful, and our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. There’s no breakfast service, so plan ahead for breakfast and other meals. Each room has a fridge and stove. The garden and pool area are beautifully kept, and open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. It’s a great place to unwind after hiking in the Apuan Alps, cycling, or visiting the nearby villages. A perfect B&B for a few peaceful days among the mountains and villages. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at this little gem in Castelvecchio Pascoli. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and Barga itself was a delightful surprise. There’s plenty nearby to see: the Botri Gorge, the Grotta del Vento, and the Antro del Corchia, which is a must-see. Lucca is an hour away. The property is 900 meters from the villa Pascoli chose as his summer residence, where he remained in Bologna until the day the poet died. A wonderful experience, highly recommended!

We’re still enchanted by our family trip at the end of August with our two children. The host family was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the grounds were kept immaculate, with every leaf picked up each day. The location is really special: Barge, Lucca, Pisa, and Florence are all within easy reach, yet the place is wonderfully quiet among the mountains. A dream vacation for us. We’ll definitely be back. The hostess was friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, though all the furnishings are dated. A few small touches and a few more smiles from Mr. Roberto could improve things. The pool was well maintained, and it’s an excellent base for visiting the Garfagnana, with Braga only a few kilometers away. We’d recommend it anyway.
