The smart lock made getting into the room easy, just one click, and the location is ideal, close to the main transport links. But the flat wasn’t clean or tidy. There was dust in every bedroom, the floor hadn’t been cleaned, and the sheets were stained. The water tank in the coffee machine had blue and white stains, the kettle was filthy, and the shower walls and floor were moldy. The drain was disgusting and the toilet smelled awful. It’s on the sixth floor with no lift, which should have been mentioned beforehand. We messaged the owner and got no response. Two stars.

The breakfast arrangement needs a clear improvement, and some of the furniture could do with being replaced.

The address number is 184, not 221. I’ll try to get it corrected on Google Maps.

This was a strange experience. I booked through booking.com, but when I arrived to check in, they put a contract in Italian in front of me, with no English version available. The man was friendly enough but couldn’t make decisions and kept calling the owner. Then he asked for a copy of my passport to send to someone, though I had no idea who. I contacted booking.com, but they didn’t help, which was pretty mediocre. I don’t believe Italian law requires me to send my personal data to strangers. By then I’d lost confidence and cancelled. My main issue is that requirements like this should be explained when booking, not sprung on guests at the door. booking.com should have taken that on board. It’s why I book directly when I can. For me, booking.com is only useful for searching. Too bad!
