The place was amazing, and the accommodation was super nice right in the heart of Bari. Roberto kindly talked us through how to drive up to the entrance, so we could unload our luggage before parking the car.

We could walk pretty much everywhere from this spot in the center of the old town, with everything nearby. The place was spacious, especially by Texas standards, and sparkling clean. Roberto, the hotel owner, was the friendliest. Loved both the hotel and the city!

We left right away and found somewhere else to stay. The location and the owner are charming, but the place felt oppressive and unsafe. The stairs up were frightening and made hauling a heavy suitcase nearly impossible, and they seemed dangerous for many people. There were technically two windows, but they were high up and out of reach, with blackout curtains. Otherwise, it felt like an air b and b with stale, smoky air and no usable windows, which was very claustrophobic. The furniture was shabby enough that I was afraid to sit on it. This is not a four star hotel. Honestly, the huge number of five star reviews is hard to understand, and I'm not sure they're all real.
