Hotel Riviera

The garden was beautiful, and Santo Spirito is within walking distance. The rooms are a bit dated, but we had a pleasant stay overall.

At least they cleaned the room every day. The staff don’t know English at all, and breakfast was the same each morning, with bread and cakes left out all the time. The manager or some staff were rude about us eating something in the lounge. They let us stay for a bit, then told us, “u need to pack, you are not allowed to eat here”.

The location might earn it two stars, but it doesn’t deserve even one. We were told by phone they were fully booked, but when we arrived there were five rooms available. It was late, so we had to take two of them. The staff were bad and didn’t speak English at all. The walls were cracked and damp, with a bad smell, just as you can see in the pictures. The ugly old furniture didn’t look like the pictures, and the tiny old TV didn’t work. Only one outlet worked, probably because they’re made for UK plugs or some other phone chargers. The air conditioner was very old, had no remote, and I don’t think it worked, though at least it was there so you could know it existed 😉. I can’t say anything good about the bathroom, and I don’t think it could be worse. Bad luck for me. Definitely look somewhere else.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel itself was bad. The bathroom was the worst part of the room. During the bad, a terrible smell started, coming from the shower sewage in the middle of the bathroom, with something coming up through the pipes. First and last time at this hotel. It’s a characteristic three-star hotel, but in a third-world country.
