Loft11 - Bari Policlinico

A lovely little place, really nice.

The bed was comfortable, and the apartment was clean, with air conditioning, a washing machine, and laundry supplies. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped for cooking, including cutlery, pots and pans, a gas stove, a fridge, and a freezer. The room itself was small but did the job. Our main issue was a sewer smell from the bathroom sink. Opening the windows cleared it while we were inside, but after we left with them shut, it was unpleasant when we came back. We were glad to have soap and shampoo, though a bit more would have been useful.

The mattresses were so uncomfortable they really need replacing, especially for what this place costs. It does have a welcoming feel, though it's basically a basement in the building. I also expected at least a snack or some cookies for breakfast. Instead, there was an old moka pot, some ground coffee, and a few tea bags, while the fridge was completely empty, not even a couple of free bottles of water.

Being close to the train station was the one real plus. At 100 euros a night, I expected the Booking photos to match a clean apartment, but this was in the basement and the cleanliness was poor. There was dirt on the floor, mold in the bathroom, and a very dirty bathroom radiator. The kitchen cloth looked like a rag used for wiping the floor, and the towels had stains. The bedroom mattress was so soft and noisy that sleeping on it was difficult. Heat came only from a bathroom radiator and two air conditioners, which would stop after a while. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
