Palazzo Verrone

There wasn’t even air conditioning. The room was extremely dirty, the floor never got cleaned, and the towels had stains.

The location is very good, in the historic centre and close to the more modern part too. The apartment itself is nice, with clean rooms, a kitchen, one ensuite room, and two others sharing a bathroom. There are also huge common areas that aren’t especially useful. We were there in January, when it got down to around 1 degree at night, and there was no heating or hot water anywhere in the apartment. The duvet was very thin, with no extra blankets. When I contacted the host in the evening, they didn’t reply until the next morning, just before we were leaving. Check-in hours were inconvenient and inflexible. We arrived in Bari in the morning, but they wouldn’t even let us leave our backpacks before 3.

The old town location was great, but that was the only good thing. There wasn’t a single air conditioner, and it was so hot in the evenings that we could barely sleep. The hair dryer didn’t work, and the shower holder was broken, so you had to hold the shower with one hand while washing with the other. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until some changes are made.

We enjoyed every minute in this great apartment, right in the middle of the old city. I’d recommend it to anyone.
