Saint Michel Room by Wonderful Italy

The location looked great, and we were excited by how unique the place seemed. But there was a strong smell of damp and mould throughout, and it never went away. Black, pink, and white mould covered several large patches of wall. We reported it to Wonderful Italy. At first they seemed attentive and said they'd try to find us another place and arrange a refund. That turned out to be lip service. They apparently had no intention of refunding us, saying mould was a feature of old buildings and telling us to "open the windows" even though there are no windows. They sent a cleaner, who said, "it's not mould," made a very half-hearted attempt to scrub it, and left. The smell was awful, and breathing black mould is extremely dangerous, especially for kids. We all struggled to sleep and left with sore throats. We'd visited several other cellars in the area, and none had black mould or stank. The host also left one coffee pod for two people for two nights, and one toilet roll for the same two-night stay. We had two towels, which weren't changed, and had to use them to mop up when the fridge malfunctioned and defrosted the ice. This could have been great, but it was a disaster. Worst of all, they don't care.
