Breakfast was at the nearby Bar Moderno, with Italian coffee or freshly squeezed juice and a hot cornetto with different fillings included in the price. For 3 euros extra, you could get a savory breakfast, and the bar staff were friendly too. The flat was a really positive surprise: clean, kept tidy by the staff, and stocked with everything guests might need. The host was helpful and nice, explained things carefully, and recommended sights and places worth visiting. He kept in touch during my stay and was always ready to help. He also spoke perfect English, which was a welcome surprise, since I’ve often struggled to communicate in other places in southern Italy.

The double bed was comfortable, the place was clean, air conditioned, and in a safe area. The single bed, though, was awful. When the neighbors cooked, all their smells came into the room so badly I nearly threw up. It’s far from the city center, and tea and coffee in the room cost 1 euro each. Not great, not terrible.

The neighborhood is peaceful, and the apartment was very nice. The owner was friendly and helpful. Bus number 6 goes straight there from the station.
