We arrived to find that Room 302 was self check-in, which was fine, but the room was dirty, the shower head was partly broken, and there was mold on the wooden board on the shower floor. The bathroom smelled so strongly of sewage that we couldn't use the toilet or leave its door open, and the odor still spread through the room. The walls and door handles were dirty too, the walls were very thin, and communication was poor. We tried contacting the owner, but she didn't answer us. She only responded after we got Booking to call her. She said she'd send someone to check, but nobody came for three hours. After we called Booking again, they gave her a chance to fix things. She texted angrily, saying she didn't understand and asking us to send photos of the smell, which was interesting. Later, when I asked if there was any update, she said we could just leave if we didn't like it. We've never had a bad experience like this. We usually don't mind some negatives because we like things simple, but this wasted a day of our holiday, was stressful and left us paying more to find another place in peak season. After a long day, we managed to get a free cancellation, then were left out on the street looking for somewhere else. What a tragedy!
