Albergo Nuovo Belvedere

The hotel was extremely accommodating when our trip was affected by flight delays and cancellations, and I’m very grateful for that. We had a huge Family room, with separate rooms and lots of open space. It was modern and had great AC, which really mattered in 100 degree heat, since you can’t always count on AC in Italy even when a place says it has it. The location is great for getting around the entire Amalfi coast. Don’t hesitate to stay here, A+++

The rooms were fine apart from occasional power problems, breakfast was adequate, and the location made nearby sights easy to reach. But the owner, Mr. Lamberti, made the stay unpleasant. I know his name because he pointed to his name tag while we were talking. When I asked at reception how to get to a nearby grocery store, he lectured me about eating at the hotel instead of buying food elsewhere and bringing it to the backyard dining area. We had done that only because his manager had said it was okay when we asked. He should have checked with his employees before confronting guests. He also spoke to me in a sarcastic, macho way about how I could possibly not know the local food “carbonera.” We repeated the word back and forth at least four times, and it really bothered me. Guests come from different cultures and may not know local dishes. As a local hotel owner, he should be aware of that and be polite, welcoming, and patient. Customers aren’t neighborhood friends; they come from all sorts of backgrounds. While we were there, he spoke Italian to the receptionist behind our backs, and we noticed. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world and have never been treated this way. A change in attitude would help. I stayed at Lamberti Hotel in early July 2023, and the stay was fine in other respects.

We had a nice stay as a family. The hotel was clean and attractive to walk around, and everyone on staff was friendly, informed, and helpful, especially Jerry. It was reasonably priced too.

The service felt both professional and warm, and the atmosphere had a lovely family feel. Our room and bathroom were comfortable, modern, and very clean. Fresh food was another highlight.
