Paola made our stay especially easy, and her recommendations were great. The rooms were quiet, very clean, and full of charm, with lovely views across the lake and really comfortable beds. We also liked the setting: it’s less than a 10-minute walk along the lake to the center. Staying at Albergo la Ripa was the best experience we had in Baveno. Thanks so much, Paola. We’ll definitely come back!

Bring plenty of mosquito repellent. There were mosquitoes around the Italian lakes at this time of year. The villa itself is lovely and right on the shore, with a private beach for swimming and other water sports, and the center is an easy eight-minute walk away. A couple of things to know: there’s no lift, which didn’t bother us, and no air conditioning. We chose a small room, our own decision, but found it too warm. The small room at the end of the villa has a partial lake view, though road noise made it hard to leave the windows open, which added to the discomfort.

Paola, the hostess, was outstanding and happy to help with anything we needed. We had a large room overlooking the lake, and it was amazing. Dogs are very welcome here, including at breakfast and on the private beach. The town center is about a five-minute walk if you take it very slowly. A wonderful place to stay in Baveno, absolutely recommend it!

The service was much better than I expected, and the staff were friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at Albergo la Ripa, with its pleasant rooms by the water and good food. It made for a memorable vacation, and we’ll surely return soon.

A lovely beach and fabulous views across the lake sit behind this small, modest hotel, with a garden around them. It feels charming and soothing, a nice place to slow down and relax. I’d come back.
