Residence Holiday

The location was great, which makes the state of the room such a shame. It was run-down, with things broken, damaged, or coming away from the walls. The bed may have been the worst we’ve had in nearly a year of travel, and nights were so noisy that earplugs felt essential. A weekend’s work and a little money could make the room lovely, but as it is, I’d find it hard to recommend.

We had a great room in a gorgeous location, and the host was really friendly. Everything was super clean. The old house does show its age in the bed, though, which seemed as old as the building, and that was the one thing we didn’t like. We’d still come back to Residence Holiday in Baveno Lago Maggiore and are already looking forward to another stay.

Right in the center of Baveno, with the supermarket, pizzeria, and harbor just next door. The view over the old town and lake is lovely, and the beach is about a 750-meter walk away. Free parking is usually only available at the train station. The apartment was clean and in excellent shape, with a kitchen stocked with what you need. Excellent value for money.

We had a great time, and the staff were very friendly. Monica at reception gave us suggestions for things to do when we arrived, and someone was available whenever we needed help outside the morning reception hours. There’s a boat dock right outside for trips to many places on Lake Maggiore, plus a shared roof terrace with fantastic lake views. Our room also had a balcony with a great view. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the shared utility room has a coffee machine and other things guests can use for free. There’s free public parking nearby, though it isn’t included with the apartment. We usually found a spot each day. Restaurants, a nearby supermarket, and a bakery are all within walking distance. You’ll need a restaurant reservation, otherwise you might not get a table. Good value for money.
