Villa Ramella

We rented the house for two weeks and loved the setting, along with one of the prettiest lake views. The historic home dates back to 1929 and has been renovated beautifully. With up to 11 beds, it works well for a big family or a group of friends. We'll be back! 😍

The location, views, and rooms are lovely, as others have said. But with rent this high, it's outrageous that the place isn't kept in better shape. The parasols were moldy, chairs were broken, and the garden and terrace looked neglected. The toilets were so dirty, and the seats weren't attached properly, that sitting down caused a mess. Lots of small problems like these spoiled the stay, especially our arrival.

The house itself is really nice, with lovely rooms and a fantastic balcony view. But the online pictures don't match how it looks now, and the high rent, almost €800/night, makes the upkeep issues especially frustrating. The terrace and garden were neglected, with leaves everywhere and weeds growing between the tiles. Some outdoor chairs were broken or wobbly, and the parasols were moldy. The grill was unsteady, dirty, and ridiculously small for a house this size. Moldy beanbags were in the garage, while the cushions in the seating area needed shaking out. There were cobwebs in the corners of almost every room, and all the toilet seats were broken and outdated. Also, only one door in each bathroom or toilet could be locked.

The lake view from the balcony and terrace was beautiful, and the beds were clean. The house is spacious, with big rooms, several bathrooms, and a large living room, so it can suit a big group. At first glance, the interior looks good. On closer inspection, though, there was dust, hair, and cobwebs in many corners, and the bathroom cabinets weren't clean. The toilet seats wobbled because they weren't fastened properly, and the bathrooms couldn't be locked from the inside. The outdoor space could be lovely, with its big terrace and lake view, but it looked like it hadn't been maintained or repaired for a while. There were lots of leaves and weeds, bent or broken garden chairs, and a filthy lounge area. A completely ruined chair had been left in a nook and should have been thrown away. For about €80 per person per night, I don't think the value is there. It's far too expensive in this condition. Some time and money need to go into making it feel as welcoming as the photos suggest. The grill was old, unstable, and dirty, and much too small for 10 people. There was also just a small capsule coffee machine, which isn't enough for 10.
