Our family of two adults and two teenagers spent a wonderful week at Il Borgo. It's right in central Bellagio, with great restaurants just steps away, a wine shop next door, and the main square only about 100 metres from the door. The apartment was an ideal base for exploring this special town, and we'd happily return. There are 60 steps up, but they weren't a problem, even with four heavy bags on arrival and departure. The climb was worth it for the apartment's charm and peaceful feel. Inside, it was spotless, and the air conditioning was a real help on warm days. The welcome box was thoughtful. Wi-Fi was patchy now and then, but manageable for us.

Without air conditioning, summer stays are unbearable. There aren't proper curtains to keep the light out either, and the sound insulation is terrible.

The apartment has air conditioning in every room, Wi-Fi, and even a lake view from some of the windows. It’s been renovated recently and looks great, though you’ll need to climb to the third floor since there’s no elevator. The welcome was very friendly, and there’s a lockable underground garage nearby for €20 a night. It’s right in the old town, on one of those steep, narrow streets. The living room sofa bed is roomy and comfortable, but the short bunk beds make the place a better fit for a family with young children than for four adults. Soundproof windows are a must, since diners and bar customers downstairs can otherwise be heard. I’d definitely recommend it for a Bellagio stay.
