We had a wonderful 5-night family stay, and Francesca was a delightful host. She was incredibly responsive before and during the visit, generous with her time, and shared recommendations for activities and less touristy restaurants up the hill in a smaller town. We enjoyed delicious meals at those spots. Il Poggio di Bellagio is peaceful, set far enough above Bellagio’s busy tourist centre to escape the crowds, but still reachable on foot when needed. The lake views were gorgeous, and the house and grounds were beautifully maintained. The pool was perfect for both children and adults. We’d absolutely return if we’re in the area and enthusiastically recommend it for a tranquil holiday.

The garden is huge, the pool is great, and the view over Como lake and the Swiss/Italian Alps is so good we spent a couple of hours just looking at it. We really enjoyed our 4days at Il Poggio. The room was very clean, but a bit too big for two, with a large living area, one bed room, and a great shower facility. The owner was very kind and often came by for us, other guests, and even urgent needs. We also really appreciated her three recommendations for restaurants and a pastry shop. They were all delicious, and it’s hard to find places like that without local professional advice in a busy tourist town like Bellagio.

We loved our stay. It was quiet, peaceful, and secluded, with fantastic views and an incredibly helpful host. The walk down to town is steep, but that comes with such a spectacular location. Highly recommend it.

For a group of 10-16, this villa has everything needed for a memorable stay. The pool is large, and the setting gives you broad views across both sides of Lake Como. Truly magical.
