Just a few steps from the house’s front gate is ‘Salita Serbelloni’, the picturesque street leading down to Lake Como. I enjoyed staying in this lovely place on the hill. The house was neat and clean, with a room, kitchen, and bathroom, and the owner’s warm welcome made me feel comfortable.

Lucia was so accommodating about my arrival and departure times. When I couldn't catch her, she left me notes. The apartment is small but has what you need, and cosy is exactly how I’d describe it. The AC worked perfectly, and it’s only a 4 minute walk down to the waterfront. Its location right by the staircase you see in all the photos is handy for town, the shops, and the church. Just be aware that all those stairs can be a lot if you don’t usually exercise or have limited mobility. I saw plenty of people stopping for a breather. There was a leaflet about a guided tour in the apartment. I didn’t join the official one, but did the same route on my own, and the hour’s walk was well worth it. I thought the place was lovely, and at that price it felt like a steal compared with other listings I saw.
