Albergo La Perla

The staff make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. We stayed at Art Hotel La Perla for the second time, and it was fantastic again. The location is great, close to the sea, and we found the rooms clean and the food good. We’ll be back!

The staff kept the room spotless each day, and they were always smiling and helpful. Since we were traveling with our young daughter and little dog, we tried to keep things tidy for them too. The dog was welcome at the beach in a dedicated area and could even come to the dining room, where they reserved a private table for us. There was no extra charge for this. Our all-inclusive stay cost €600. It covered meals, the private beach, bicycles including electric ones, evening activities, and more. The beach had a pet-friendly area. The meal setup included table service and an à la carte menu chosen the day before, along with a big buffet of appetizers and side dishes that changed regularly. The food was excellent, with fresh fish each day, generous servings, and some really top-notch dishes. We made good use of the hotel bikes to get around without the car. There were no time limits, we just asked for the keys. On Saturday evening, the staff also let us use a private room with a TV to watch a game with another family. We could share it with whoever we wanted, a simple gesture that meant a lot. They also put on evening activities. We joined an astronomy session with a professional telescope, where knowledgeable staff showed us galaxies and nebulae. Other nights had things like ceramic sculpture and creative recycling. We’d booked a sea-view room, but asked for more space so our daughter wouldn’t have to compete with us for the double bed. The owner offered a newly renovated room for the same price, with two double beds and a lovely private terrace with loungers, a sofa, an umbrella, and drying racks. It felt almost like a two-room apartment. We arrived before check-in, while the rooms were still being prepared. They welcomed us straight away and offered parking, beach access, luggage storage, and mocktails in the comfortable outdoor seating area. A lovely welcome that set the tone for the weekend, from Thursday to Sunday. When we left, they kindly let us keep the room until the afternoon after lunch because it hadn’t been booked. That gave us a relaxed last day. A wonderful stay, with a family feel and professional, attentive management for all guests, including the youngest ones and four-legged friends. We’ll definitely return.

A really bad experience before the stay even began. On May 20, I called to ask whether three rooms were available and spoke directly with Mr. Daniele, who I believe is the owner. He sent a quote that afternoon showing an offer and its validity through May 26. Since we were two families, I took the short time we needed to discuss it before confirming. Just 24 hours later, we had decided to book and I messaged to ask whether the two double rooms had sea views, along with a few other questions. I wrote around 4 p.m.; they replied at 9 p.m. to say there were no longer any rooms for our dates. Nobody had warned me that I needed to book quickly because of the number of enquiries they were getting. When I asked what had happened, they said the validity period on the quote referred to the price. The whole thing was absurd and showed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy.
