Hotel Jura

I heard about the hotel through word of mouth, and knew when I arrived that I’d have a lovely holiday. Albina, the owner, is extraordinary: generous, understanding, down to earth, and wonderful. She’s like a friend and a mother, a truly rare person. The hotel is simple, tidy, clean, and well organized, and the rooms are functional and well managed. The room was spotless, and the whole hotel felt clean, fresh, and well maintained, with new fixtures and fittings. The staff were attentive and kind, and Alice and I felt really pampered. Albina, the owner, treated us so well and put kindness and passion first. The breakfast buffet was always excellent. For lunch and dinner, you could choose between two first courses and two second courses, and they always offered us seconds. There was plenty of food. We had a really positive stay and highly recommend it. Alice and I had a wonderful time. See you soon!

The beach is no more than a five-minute walk away, and we sometimes came back from it to eat before heading out again. The Italian food was good and tasty. The owner was on site, keeping an eye on things and looking after guests personally. Our room was in great shape, with everything working and nothing broken. The bed was made and the floor mopped each day. Cleaning happened while we were at breakfast and was very thorough. I once dropped a small packet of tablets under the bed, and it had been neatly put on the nightstand afterward. I’ve stayed in three-star hotels in Italy, and this one easily holds its own.

The staff were quite welcoming, but several things about my week here were disappointing. The shower often ran out of hot water, and the bathroom had no window. There weren’t set meal times, so arriving even an hour late could mean not getting anything to eat. The food was plentiful but poorly prepared, with hairs on plates and dishes that weren’t always clean. The fish was frozen, which felt unacceptable by the sea, and water at meals cost extra. Water also dripped from the air conditioning vents in the dining room, landing on the table and plates. Staff didn’t wear masks, so anti-COVID rules weren’t being followed.
