The only good thing was how close the sea was. The rest of the week was a nightmare. The rooms needed attention, towels were changed twice a week and sheets once a week, and towels were left to dry on the plants. There wasn’t even a dryer. The kitchen was awful: every dish they brought had at least one hair in it, and the food was the same all the time, just with different dish names. They brought the main course right after the first course, didn’t change the tablecloths, and the buffet was just salad, corn, beans, and onions. The elevator barely worked, and the pool was full of ants. What part of this was supposed to be a four-star hotel?

The price is low, so these are suggestions for improvement. The sea nearby is spectacular, reached through an underpass that could use work. There are small stones on the shore, but the beach itself is beautiful. Around the property there isn’t much to do, though Diamante is beautiful. Scalea is so-so, and the view is much the same. Our room was small and had no balcony. We had to share drying racks, which I didn’t like and found unhygienic. The pool wasn’t very appealing, was cold, had no bar, and we didn’t use it. It starts at 1.40 meters and gets deeper. The food was decent. Waiters, most of them older, served the first course, main course, and fruit or dessert. The appetizers were always the same all week, vegetables, salad and tomatoes, corn, potatoes, and broccoli, and they were put out at the buffet at the end of the meal. The waiters were efficient, though they’d call it out if someone left without finishing their dish. There were four young people on the entertainment team. Giuseppe was the only friendly one. I’d hoped to play more soccer. There’s a nice pitch, but we played only once all week. The facility’s Facebook profile says they play every day, and that’s exactly why I chose it. But it happened just once.
