Club Residence La Castellana Mare

The pool was huge and carefully looked after, and cleanliness was excellent everywhere. We spent a week at Castellana Mare between the pool and the beach, and it was both spectacular and relaxing. There’s a restaurant, assigned beach umbrellas, a bar, and play equipment for little ones. Parking is spacious, so finding a spot right outside your door was easy. The entertainment was great, and all the staff were welcoming and ready to help. A wonderful week away!

The evening view from the terrace over the beautiful pool at Castellana Mare was lovely, especially in summer. We were there for two weeks, and the entertainment was wonderful and the service excellent. But for a place this large, the playground felt undersized. With a small child, we had to wait ages for a turn on the swings and slide. We also kept the windows shut five days out of seven because people were lighting barbecues. Thankfully, we had air conditioning.

The apartments are simple, but the view over the pool and sea is really evocative. We had a great time. I’d stayed here two summers ago, and this time I noticed the holidaymakers seemed to come alive again, with the entertainment team clearly playing a big part. They’re the soul of the resort. Peter keeps showing more sides to his artistic talent, and Veronica brings together sweetness, skill, and discipline. I could name them all! Credit to the manager too, always around with a watchful eye and a welcoming smile. As a book might put it, “Go where Luca, aka Kalù, takes you.”

I stayed in the “Caribbean” area and was very satisfied. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well cared for, with two bathrooms, air conditioning, a properly equipped kitchen, and room for six. It lacked a washing machine, which was the one small drawback. The area is well kept and suits a slower, more relaxing holiday or families with young children. Like the “Mare” area, it’s just a short walk from the beach. There’s a 24-hour refreshment stand, a little beach volleyball court, a garden playground, and a grassy space for anyone who’d rather not sit on sand. The beach is equipped, set in a small bay, and mostly sandy with some pebbles. The sea is stunning, and from the beach you can watch the twilight colors at sunset while the waves lap a crystal-clear sea. Each area has a pool, though they’re not all the same, the “Caribbean” pool is designed for children. The entertainment is very active and engaging. One thing to consider is the layout: the property is split into “Monte”, “Mare”, and “Caribbean”, with no direct connection between them. “Mare” and “Caribbean” are on the seafront and easy to reach on foot, while “Monte” sits at a significant elevation and has no suitable walking path. Free shuttles connect it to the other areas, but that separation can be a real constraint, especially if you stay in “Monte”.
