Bene Vagienna Holiday House

I chose this place for the affordable price, but otherwise I wouldn't return. It's a three-bedroom B&B in an apartment building, with only one bathroom, no breakfast, and no kitchen. The room had a TV, balcony, and a mini-fridge that barely worked. There were no mosquito nets, and with countless bedbugs around, we had to keep the windows shut. The front door lock was faulty, and the entrance hall was poorly kept and dirty. There was a strong cooking smell on the landing throughout our stay, like Arabian cuisine. The elevator, at least, was new. Two of the six wardrobe doors were locked at first. After a few days, she unlocked two more so we could put our clothes away. Wi-Fi didn't work. I offered to call the phone company to help, but the woman stood firm and said she'd sort it out herself, SHE! If I remember correctly, a few guests stayed for a few days in the first week and over the weekend. The bathroom got a rough cleaning then, and the sheets in our room were changed. After that, we didn't see anyone again, and the cleaning staff were rude. There were no recycling bins or bags. They brought us two bags at the last minute and told me they recycle here, but didn't say when collection happens or give any other details.

The TV was more of an illusion than a television. You could hear a movie, but when we tried to play one, nothing appeared on screen. Maybe another €20 in cash would have fixed that too. The mini-fridge was switched off, and there wasn't even a bottle of water, which seems like the bare minimum for welcoming a guest. I can't comment on the cleanliness. Never again. Check-in was by 6 PM. We told the lady beforehand, as we've had to on other occasions, that we couldn't collect the keys before then. She said that would be fine, but when we arrived at 8 PM, she demanded €20 in cash as a late fee, despite our advance notice. The first words that come to mind after staying here are terrible, horrifying, and surreal. Be careful about that fee, because you never know who you're dealing with.

The place was clean and welcoming, but over €100 for one night felt expensive. The woman handing over the keys was so overly friendly that she became intrusive, asking questions and making inappropriate comments.

My booking was cancelled, and I never got my money back. Nobody there could speak English. Zero stars from me!
