Trattoria Traversi

The town was charming and easy to walk around, and our room was adorable. It even stayed surprisingly cool overnight. After cycling up a very steep hill, it was such a relief to have the hotel owner meet us at the door and help us settle in. We were on a cycling trip from Bormio to Como, and dinner at the family-run trattoria was one of the best parts of an already amazing trip. The pasta was delicious, the wine selection was great, and the service was a 10/10. Our Italian is pretty terrible, so we really appreciated the owner taking time to explain the menu. We tried a local pasta with delicious noodles made from a mix of white and black flour. Breakfast there the next morning was a lovely start to the day. There was a generous spread of tarts, meats, cheese, eggs, bread, juice, and coffee, and the service was amazing again. You can tell the family cares about both the restaurant and hotel. We had such a good time and hope to come back. We can't recommend both places enough.

The food was good, and I loved the atmosphere from the moment I arrived. It felt like a romantic, beautifully furnished little nest. I would have left a good review if the service hadn't been so slow, arrogant, and overbearing. The waiter's behavior, along with the other waiter's response to the situation, was excessive. I made the mistake of staying instead of getting up and leaving right then, because my manners got the better of me. A bit of advice from someone who's worked in restaurants: communication matters when you're dealing with people. Also, antipasto should come before the meal, not all at once. The food was really tasty, with good-sized portions, and dinner cost 20€ per person. Breakfast was 7.5 €. It's a family-run place, and you can see how much they care for their customers. The atmosphere was quiet, with classical music in the background.

Prices are really attractive, and the restaurant is very good. They also serve Pintalpina beer, which is local to Valtellina and, in my opinion, one of the world's best.
