Gombit Hotel

We loved the old town location, easily a 10/10, and would happily stay at the Gombit again. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was okay, though I would've liked a cooked option. The room was quite warm. When we asked about the air conditioning, we were told local rules don't allow it to run after October 15. That's obviously not the hotel's fault, and they gave us a fan instead.

This Marriott felt unlike the usual properties, and the town itself was historic, welcoming, and wonderful. The location was amazing. Since it's a smaller hotel, the friendly staff got to know guests and chatted with us about our stay. I'd definitely return.

The two-level suite was beautifully put together, with two bathrooms, and suited our family of two adults and a 12-year-old perfectly. We'd been staying at highly rated hotels around Italy and didn't expect much from Gombit, but this turned out to be a fantastic experience. The design felt thoughtful, with care in every detail. The hotel is only a two-minute walk from the main square, and we found parking nearby without trouble. Two friendly, upbeat men at reception made a lovely first impression. It was a little warm in the room, and the church bells ring around 7:30 in the morning, though neither was a problem for us. Breakfast was otherwise great, but I would've liked eggs, perhaps an omelet. We only stayed one night, and it exceeded our expectations.

Federica at the front desk was one of the best hotel staff I've met, absolutely excellent. The room was quiet and nice, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was a decent standard Italian spread. The location was the real standout, and if we're back in Bergamo, we'll definitely stay here again. Just remember to reserve parking in advance.
