Maison Al Parco

It worked well for my late arrival and early train the next morning. I got in around 10:30 pm and had a decent night’s sleep. The bed and facilities were clean, and the decor was okay. You can hear the planes a lot, though it didn’t bother me. Check-in is by phone, and it was very dark outside and in the hallway, so I had to use my mobile torch. As a solo woman traveller, I found that a little scary, even though I’m a confident traveller. The apartment has been split into four rooms, and there’s no lock on the inside of the door, which also didn’t feel very safe for travelling alone.

We only needed a place for one night, so the comfort issues were manageable. The shower leaked, there was no duvet cover, the walls were so thin that you could hear everything in the next room, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. The toilet seat looked old, dirty and yellow. The location is good for the airport, and parking was easy. There was just one space left when we arrived, but later the car park had plenty of room. Finding the entrance the first time was a bit confusing, although the directions helped. Booking had an authentication problem, so for some reason we had to book again on a different platform.

The hallway was strikingly beautiful, clean, smelled good and felt high quality. The room, though, was cheaply furnished, with uncomfortable pillows and cheap furniture. There was mold in the bathroom, and the blinds were broken. For the price, I can only advise against staying here.

Being close to the airport was convenient, and the shower was amazing. But the room was so heavily perfumed that we could barely breathe, and people coming and going all night kept us awake. It felt more like a hostel, and without that great shower I’d give it zero stars.
