Marketa greeted us and was ready to help with anything we needed. She also put together a fabulous breakfast each morning. We’ve just had a glorious three days at Borgo San Gaetano, and the hotel was spotless, with wonderful hospitality and lovely decor from the moment we walked in. I can’t praise it enough, and I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Bernalda.

We spent six nights at Borgo San Gaetano and really enjoyed it. The staff were attentive and spoke several languages, and breakfast was excellent. The charming hotel has simple, elegant decor and very comfortable rooms. It’s right in the center of Bernalda, with several good restaurants just a short walk away. Matera and the other villages of Basilicata are easy to visit from there, and the sea and the archaeological museums of Policoro and Tarento are nearby. A little gem for a stay in the region.

We stayed in a junior suite and found it clean, lovely, and thoughtfully equipped, with a living area and a very comfortable bed. The layout is charming and unusual, with each room opening through its own entrance onto a pretty courtyard. Gian, Noemi, and the rest of the staff were all kind and friendly. We found parking right beside the property without any trouble. The room had plenty of space, a lovely shower and a comfortable bed, and breakfast was a real treat, with delicious local ingredients. The people running this B&B were so welcoming. When we arrived, they suggested places for aperitivo and dinner, then helped us make reservations. It’s a perfect spot in the heart of Bernalda.

The website doesn’t really show how charming this place is. In lively Bernalda, it feels like a little oasis, with a lovely garden and beautiful courtyard. The rooms are spacious and the staff are incredible. There are plenty of great cafes and restaurants in town, and Matera and several charming villages are close by. Fantastic hotel.
