Jacopo was great and showed me his wine collection. The Barbarossa and Sangiovese Reserva straight from the barrel were excellent, tannic rather than fruity.

We were lucky to try ten different wines, all of them amazing, with cheese, bread, and their own olive oil. The tasting cost €15 and felt like great value. Jacopo, the owner, led a very informative tour of the traditional house and cellars, which reflect decades of winemaking by one family. Harvest was just getting underway, but Jacopo still gave us a lot of his time. The vineyard sits on a beautiful hillside with fabulous views. I’d highly recommend visiting Fattoria Paradiso if you’re nearby, then heading up to Bertinoro for lunch.

We arrived without booking and staff greeted us straight away. They called the owner, who came over and set up a lovely tasting, then showed us around the cellar and grounds. The wines at Paradiso are wonderful, and we bought 24 bottles. “Il Mezzo” was an especially outstanding glass.

The people are genuine, and the wines and olive oil are honestly made and responsibly grown. The wines have an old-school feel, traditional and elegant, from sweet whites to big reds, so there’s something for everyone. Easy to recommend.

A historic winery with a really cool atmosphere. The Barbarossa and Albana Dolce are both delicious and well worth trying.
