Residenza d'Epoca Malatesta IV

Bettona and Residenza Malatesta IV make a great base for exploring Umbria, and there are plenty of free parking spaces in the piazzas, including two for disabled visitors. I’ll definitely return to this B&B, perhaps in winter. The historic residence has rooms from doubles to family suites for five, with striking period furniture, air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and amenities. There’s a refrigerator on each floor and reading areas on both. Breakfast is served in a spacious room with a bar. Downstairs, an excellent restaurant serves authentic Umbrian food and a selection of local red and white wines. You can also eat outdoors. The brick vaulted ceilings add to the welcoming feel, along with the owners’ experience, friendliness, and professionalism.

Bettona is magnificent, with a refreshing atmosphere, and the B&B owners, Silvano and Roberta, made us feel so welcome. I had a wonderful stay with my family, two adults and two little girls. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we could rest well.

Our room was cozy and clean for the two nights we stayed. We spent New Year’s Eve with a delicious dinner at Osteria Straccaganasse. Prices were fair, and the welcome was warm but discreet. The owners were very welcoming, and breakfast was good and plentiful. I stayed for one night in late January. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a very comfortable en-suite bathroom.
