Agriturismo Casa Cantone

Dinner was so badly delayed that we couldn’t even finish the meal. The appetizer came around 9 p.m. and the main course around 11, after my mother had to set her own table because staff still hadn’t finished clearing tables at 8:30. The food was poor, and some of the meat was undercooked. I’d also been promised things when I booked my 18th birthday celebration at this agriturismo, but none of them were provided. We got plastic placemats and paper plates, and when my mother reasonably asked the owner to explain, she was arrogant, along with others. Highly not recommended!

The grounds are attractive and well cared for, with farm animals in view that also looked well looked after. There’s plenty of outdoor space and parking, and rooms are available. The menu uses local ingredients and has some ambitious dishes, though the flavors were uneven between the pasta courses and portions weren’t especially generous. The meat disappointed me a bit. The wine list is good quality and average in price, but I found the overall prices high for what I ate.

We only came for dinner and ate really well. We tried truffle bruschetta and tagliatelle, Norcina pasta, lamb skewers, pork fillet with baked potatoes and grilled vegetables, then tiramisu 😋. They have gluten-free pasta and toasted bread for bruschetta too 😉. The place is very pleasant and carefully maintained, with spotless outdoor areas and lots of animals, including chickens, pigs, dogs and hares. It seems ideal for kids, and the pool is big and beautiful.

There’s lots of greenery around the farmhouse and a lovely pool. We stayed one night, enjoyed ourselves, and liked dinner too. The rooms are roomy and nicely furnished, and ours had exposed beams. The owner was very kind and helpful. We’ll be back for sure, and I highly recommend it. Novella
