Hotel Bellevue

I'd give it 3.5 stars. The staff were very friendly, the food and restaurant were very good, and the service was good too. The location is great, and parking is free. The pool is big, but the water was really cold since it isn't heated. My main complaint is the rooms: they're small and old, and look like they haven't changed since the 90s. Also, nobody spoke English, and the menu was only in Italian or German. A bit odd for a 4-star hotel.

The room and hotel felt dusty and unsanitary, especially given how old everything looked. The toiletries seemed used. The room was tiny and dated, with an uncomfortable old mattress and lumpy pillows. The toilet felt like it might break every time it was flushed, and the fridge didn't cool anything. The air conditioning was incredibly loud, but we had to sleep with it on because the balcony light couldn't be turned off. Parking was tiny too, and trying to get a space nearly gave us gray hair. The hotel itself was old in a bad way, with worn-out, outdated equipment, halls, and common spaces. The lift barely worked. I don't understand the positive food reviews. We found the food disgusting. In Italy I expect fresh, local ingredients, not those ingredients tortured, or store-bought potato croquettes and canned corn. The chef didn't seem to know how to handle seafood. The fishcakes we tried had bones in them, and my mother almost choked. The shellfish wasn't fresh, and they didn't know how to cook tuna. Meals were often either completely unsalted or much too salty, with strange additions, or just not fresh. No one spoke English, and the little German spoken was poor. The receptionist was rude when we first arrived. I had to ask three times for help with parking and was close to yelling before anyone helped. I felt like I was bothering her. The servers were often incredibly rude too. It felt like I was a chore to them, and they came across as bad-mannered and unwelcoming.

The location is excellent, close to the beach and restaurants. Staff were very polite and helpful. The room had everything needed, though it was a little too small.

A nice hotel right by the sea, with a pool and very tasty meals.
