Hotel Lily

The only real problem with our otherwise very good stay was the pricing information. I booked through a major broker, and the confirmation clearly showed a total including all charges. At checkout, the hotel still charged an extra tourist tax that wasn't listed in that total. The hotel stood by the charge and I paid it. The broker's customer service later said the hotel was wrong to charge it without informing us, tried to get a refund from the hotel, and was refused. The broker refunded me instead, since they also share responsibility for pricing information. It was about the principle, not the money. If customers can't trust the stated price, that becomes a serious problem if this practice spreads. I found it unfortunate and a sad aftertaste to an otherwise great stay. If you book, ask about any extra charges. They clearly said drinks weren't included in full or half board, which is expected, so I don't understand why mandatory extras weren't also made clear. I hope the hotel explains this better in the future. Apart from that, we enjoyed the hotel very much. The rooms were clean and modern and seemed recently renovated. The bathroom hadn't been renovated and was bordering on dated, but it was still in good condition. The cleaning was excellent, the beds very comfortable, and the air conditioning effective and quiet, so we slept very well. Breakfast was a good start to the day. We chose half board, and the dinners were generally very good, with lots of food and a few starters and mains to choose from each evening. I'd especially recommend the fish dishes, which were a notch above the others. There was also a very tasty antipasti salad buffet. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the house wine was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. At the beach, about a 6-7 minute walk away, we had our own umbrella, one deckchair, and one sunbed. We'd have preferred two sunbeds, but it worked out. The hotel also lent bicycles for shorter outings. I can recommend the lighthouse, a very nice trip of about 30 minutes each way. The area is calm but not deserted, though it isn't as large as Bibione itself. There are a few restaurants and supermarkets, some shops selling clothes and tourist items, and an ATM nearby.

The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the beach was close by.

The coffee was excellent, and so was the staff.
