The photos online bore no resemblance to the apartment we walked into. A horrible stale smell hit us straight away, and the furniture all smelled bad. The sofa looked at least 70 years old. The description's claim that it was “perfectly clean” was unbelievably brazen. Spending 1000€ to stay there was the worst part. A drawer door fell into my hands when we opened it. There was no light in the bedroom, and the chimney was clogged. When my father tried to use it, he was engulfed in smoke. We were misled from the very start. I'm so disappointed and unhappy with the holiday. My brother and I had to find another hotel because we couldn't bear the awful smell. Please cancel your reservation right away if you're thinking of booking.

The office staff were fantastic during our two-week holiday. They spoke English, German, French, and Italian, helped us get discounts for some attractions, and sorted out bus passes. The apartment was very nice, and the location worked well for families. It's about a 15-minute walk to the beach along one of the town's main streets. The siesta hours are taken seriously, and people get told off for breaking them. I can understand guests not always being familiar with that custom, so I did feel sorry for the young couple who got reprimanded.
