Villaggio Lido del Sole

There was lots of space and plenty to keep the kids busy, while the parents could relax. The whole resort felt clean and well organized, with a lovely pool that our family really enjoyed. It's only steps from the beach, and the atmosphere made for a stress-free family holiday. A fantastic place if you're after comfort, fun, and time by the sea.

The downside for us was the cleaning. The apartment could have been better prepared, especially the floor, which was very dirty and didn't seem to have been vacuumed before we arrived. We could hear everything from the neighbors, too. With noisy, ill-mannered people next door, as we had, it's hard to get much sleep. The towel pickup and return times also didn't match what reception had said, and the earliest morning pickup at 10:30 was much too late. On the plus side, it's in a quieter part of Bibione, the pool is good for kids, and parking is underneath the apartments. The apartment was decently equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.

The biggest hassle was parking. The spaces were very narrow, and some cars could barely get in with a tow bar bike rack. Reception was helpful and sorted it out for us. Getting to the designated beach area meant a 600-metre walk or a short bike ride; the location isn't its strongest point. Bibione's center is about 2 km away, though we enjoyed walking there. There's a small grocery shop and a pizzeria almost across the road, plus a nice bakery nearby, so there was no need to drive for those. Our apartment was spacious and had what our family needed. The kitchen only had basic supplies, but that was enough, and the place was clean and nice overall. The pool was pleasant but got crowded at busy times, and staff should be firmer about enforcing the sunbed reservation rules. There were activities on the property from a company; some days were more fun than others, but they seemed enjoyable and people joined in. Bringing or renting a bike or scooter would make getting around easier.

The air conditioning worked well, but that's the one good thing I can say. This was our fourth visit, and we're done with this hotel. We stayed in an apartment directly opposite the entrance gate and were woken every morning at 6 by the glass collection truck. It was horribly loud and annoying. I hardly slept because the mattresses were awful: springs poked into my back, and even small movements made the bed squeak. LAMPO, those old mattresses need replacing. The price has gone up while the standard has stayed the same, if not gotten worse.
