Posta Santa Croce

Posta Santa Croce feels as if time has stood still, thanks to a careful and determined restoration that preserves the place. It’s a setting of rare natural beauty, with many of the area’s archaeological, architectural, and landscape attractions just a short distance away. There’s the Dolmen of Bisceglie and the Cathedral of Trani, the Jatta museum in Ruvo and Castel del Monte, among others. The hospitality offered to guests is top notch.

Pietro is passionate about his region and took time to tell us about its history and his plans for the farm. He was thoughtful and attentive, even having food and drinks ready when we arrived. We also loved the artwork in the olive grove, where charred trees have been shaped into mythological figures. We spent a few days here at the end of August and really enjoyed the quiet and the charm of the masseria. It felt like a magical place where time had stopped. Thank you again.

The Park of Metamorphoses is another marvel of the masseria. Among the olive trees, old wood burned in the 2017 fire has been carved into statues that bring Greek myths to mind. We spent a warm week here in early August and found the stay restful and comfortable. There’s a real feeling of authentic beauty, in the surroundings and in the care taken to bring the ancient building back to life.

Wandering through the garden of Ovid's Metamorphoses feels like traveling back in time. It’s a beautiful place where you can sit and breathe in the peace of nature.
