B&B San Lorenzo

The main problem was the noise at night. From 22:50 there was a private party for about 40 minutes directly below us, in the restaurant, and the bass made the whole room vibrate. It stopped, then started again with quieter music. We were tired tourists hoping to rest, and without earplugs, which neither we nor the host had, we had to wait and hope we'd eventually fall asleep. I understand it wasn't the owner's fault, but it still made for a very unpleasant evening, and it would've helped if earplugs were available. We also heard breakfast being prepared and some other sounds because our room wasn't soundproof. Otherwise the rooms were nice and clean, with good showers, and the owners were pleasant. Enzo speaks a little English, we speak a little Italian, and communication was fine. The location is nice but somewhat remote, though that's no problem by car. Breakfast was okay, a little more than the average Italian breakfast.

The hosts stay in a separate part of the property, but are around to answer questions or help for most of the day. They're also keen to encourage guests to explore the town. The BnB has lovely themed rooms and a quaint feel, and we managed to park in a private garage, which was great. The downside was the centrally controlled AC, set around 26-27C. We understand that's for saving energy, but in a large room in summer we sometimes struggled with the heat.

Such a sweet place, with small decorative touches that feel perfectly chosen. The owners were helpful, and together it all gave me that ideal feeling of being in Italy 😊
