The room made this a place I probably wouldn’t pick for another stay. The bed was rock hard, and the scratchy blanket kept bothering me when I tried to sleep. We were here for one night as part of a seven-day self-drive tour of Sardinia, at a hotel chosen for us. Bitti is just outside, but it’s remote and there isn’t much happening there. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even served us good food despite our late arrival after the flight. Breakfast was good as well, with a great view over Bitti while eating. It worked fine as a quick stop before continuing south.

There’s a good range at the breakfast buffet, and the price was fair. The village looked stunning from both the restaurant and our room balcony. The hotel is pleasant and in a quiet spot, with a large pool surrounded by lush greenery. Keep an eye out for the swallows diving around. It’s starting to feel a bit old, but there’s so much space and an update could make it amazing. One drawback, the shower cubicles are very cramped.

The terrace has lovely views, and the evening atmosphere makes the restaurant a nice choice for a romantic dinner. The dishes were very good, though nothing about them really stood out. My fish fillets were otherwise perfect, but still had tiny scales on them. Since they were pan-fried, I’d have preferred the scales removed so the skin could be crispy and edible.

The homemade olive oil and wine were exquisite. This is a delightful, rustic traditional hotel, full of Sardinian charm, right down to the sheep bells on each room key. Its restaurant serves amazing local food.
