Barzio Paradise

We were told the apartment would be warm when we arrived, but it was 13 degrees Celsius in the middle of winter. The heat was activated remotely, and after 11 hours it had only reached 19 degrees. They don’t seem to check that it actually works when temperatures outside are below zero. We couldn’t sleep, and there was no regular duvet or blanket, just thin throws. I’d assumed the blankets in the pictures were only for show. There were other problems too: the walls are thin enough that you hear the neighbours, the shower towel in the bathroom was dirty, and the parking space was shared rather than private as presented. The host seemed kind until we had issues, then became rude and wouldn’t take responsibility. When contacted about a refund, they pretended not to understand English. This ruined our ski vacation. We managed to enjoy it after moving to a proper hotel. I know things can go wrong, but the building is old and the heating relies on a remote. Avoid this if you want to enjoy your vacation.

The mountain view from the balcony, with that clean air, was what stayed with me most. The house has a classic mountain feel and is fully equipped, yet access is modern and easy with a numeric door code instead of keys. It’s right in the heart of Barzio, near shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Piani di Bobbio is a 4-minute drive away, and the chairlift is a 10-minute walk. A wonderful place, I’ll definitely come back.

Barzio’s center is charming and quaint, and the cable car to the Piani di Bobbio ski lifts is just a few meters away. We had a wonderful weekend at Barzio Paradise. The apartment was fantastic, cozy, clean and had all the comforts we needed, even with children. Highly recommended :)

The view is spectacular, and the whole apartment has a warm, welcoming feel. It was clean and made it easy to relax and spend time together. Super host 😍 We’ll definitely come back!!
