Breakfast was a great start to the day, with pastries, cold cuts, eggs, bacon, made-to-order cappuccinos and espresso, plus American drip coffee. The staff welcomed us warmly, gave us a map and useful local suggestions, and were quick to help whenever we had a question. The hotel's location is hard to beat: just off Piazza Maggiore, with the Quadrilatero and its food shops and lanes right around the corner. It felt like we were right in the city's heart. Our room had its own character and used the space thoughtfully. My stepdaughter and I could both spread out, and the little table with booth seating gave us somewhere to have coffee. The bathroom felt spacious and modern, with conditioner and lotion provided. Each room is different, and the common spaces are stylish without feeling overdone. The historic building and artistic details give it a comfortable elegance. Our stay at Art Hotel Commercianti was charming and convenient, and I wouldn't debate where to stay next time I'm in Bologna.

The service felt genuinely attentive, while staying discreet and professional, and the apartment was serene and comfortable. Thoughtful details show throughout, from the materials and finishes to the careful design. It's an elegant space that made for a flawless stay. I'd gladly return.

The mattress and pillows were a little too firm for us, and driving to the hotel itself takes some nerve. We used the onsite parking, which was great, but contact the hotel beforehand for directions so you can avoid tickets. The rest of our late September stay was very pleasant. Our spacious, clean apartment was just a short block behind the hotel, only steps from Piazza Maggiore, and it was well equipped, including a TV with Netflix access. Breakfast had lovely macchiatos and sweet and savory choices, especially the pistachio and hazelnut croissants. The staff also gave us good restaurant recommendations.

We stayed five nights in August and slept well despite the hotel's busy central setting. The soundproofing was very good, the blackout curtains let us sleep in, and the temperature controls worked as they should. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and the building has lovely beams and architecture. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The location right by Piazza Maggiore made it easy to get around. Highly recommend.
