The central location is convenient, close to the train station and within walking distance of the old town, and the shower worked fine with warm water. Those were the main positives for us. What made the stay so disappointing was how confusing and misleading the whole setup felt. This isn't really a hotel or an Airbnb, and it doesn't offer the comfort and service of a hotel or the coziness and personality of an Airbnb. We expected an ordinary three-star hotel room, based on what we thought we'd booked through Booking.com, but the experience felt entirely transactional and unwelcoming. The website mentions breakfast and a gym, but breakfast wasn't included where we stayed, and it wasn't clear where the gym was or how to access it. When we raised the breakfast issue, the staff member simply said breakfast was never included there and didn't offer to check whether there had been a booking misunderstanding. I've worked in hospitality for years, and it wouldn't have taken much to look into it. The apartment is in a separate residential building a few minutes' walk from the actual hotel. Finding it was difficult, there were few signs, and we received a code with barely any directions. There was no concierge to help, and one staff member seemed unhelpful and uninterested. Even once inside, we had to use a small, outdated touchscreen. It took us 15 minutes to enter the building code without making a mistake. The building's hotel area felt like a hospital, with an apparently unused shared kitchen and a bland, unwelcoming atmosphere. The room had another touchscreen, and it took us five minutes to get the door open. The room was the best part, but it only looked clean on the surface. The curtains, walls and chairs were dirty, and there was a strange smell that might have come from a cleaning product or the garbage outside. We couldn't tell. The advertised fast internet was very slow, so I was better off using my data. For the price and description, I expected something simple, efficient and at least clean. Instead, we got the inconvenience of an Airbnb without its warmth, and without a hotel's convenience or service. That in-between experience was bad.
