Casa Lame

The room was cleaned really well each day, and having a coffee machine and a few snacks was handy. There’s a balcony that must be nice for tea in warmer weather. The place is a 10-20 minute walk from everywhere we wanted to go, just beyond the busiest area. The room and bathroom were a good size, with heated bathroom tiles that felt nice in winter. The owner lives next door and helped us figure out the confusing parking rules so we avoided a fine. The lift to the seventh-floor unit is tiny, as is common in Italy. With three or more people, you’ll need to take turns or have someone use the stairs.

A small business in a great spot, with a big clan room. Highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hosts were warm and happy to answer all our questions. We found the temperature a little lower than we’re used to, but they explained it’s regulated under local law. Breakfast was the one letdown. We’d paid for it, but at the shop they work with, an employee firmly said it meant just a croissant and coffee or juice. We had those, then went to another place of our choice to continue breakfast, since that wasn’t enough for us and we didn’t like the employee’s manner.

The paid breakfast comes from the nearby coffee shop, but the amount and choice of food and drinks were very limited. For what we paid, similar to breakfast at other hotels in Italy, it needs to be better. The host was lovely and helpful, and the room was very clean and tidy, with a coffee machine and tea provided free. A small luggage bench would be useful. There are quite a few steps before you get to the elevator, and that should be made clear.
