Domus Dotta

I only needed somewhere to sleep, and this was among the least expensive options, so I was pleasantly surprised and would like to come back next year. My stay was in May 2022. The room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a large shower. It was quiet, looked out over a local square, and was just a few minutes from the train station. There were free snacks and bottled water in the kitchen area.

The host was really nice and responsive, and I’d stay here again. The room was fairly large and comfortable, with a pleasant view of the square. There were welcome snacks and a shared kitchen/breakfast room with coffee, tea, a kettle, microwave, and mini-fridge. The bed could be set up as a double or two twins, which was handy since I was traveling with my mother. The location is very convenient if arriving by plane or train, two minutes from the main station and within walking distance of Porta Galliera, Montagnola Park, and sights in the city center.

The room cost a lot, but the quality was very poor. It looked nice in the pictures, yet everything felt cheap, and the shower, faucet, and other parts seemed to have been patched up amateurishly. There was a constant awful sewer smell coming from the toilet or shower drain. After about ten minutes in the shower, the hot water ran out and I had to finish with cold water. If you have a choice, don’t stay here.

The host was easy to communicate with. The place was clean and very conveniently located, just a short walk from the city centre and right next to the train station.
