We arrived in the middle of the night to find no water in the fridge, no coffee machine or even a coffee maker, and only half a roll of toilet paper for four days. There was a dirty towel and no pillowcase. The bathroom was awful: the rain shower was the only one that worked, and the shower head was broken. There wasn't a hairdryer either. We reported the problems to the owner, but heard nothing. After check-in, the only message we got was an email about checkout. The photos on Booking.com were nothing like the apartment we were given. Getting the keys was another hassle. It cost €20 to arrive after 7 PM, there was no option after 11 PM, and key pickup was nearly a kilometer away from the apartment. A miserable trek with suitcases after traveling. It's misleading, short on basics, and the owner disappears when issues come up. I strongly advise against it. They'll probably soon claim we weren't staying there. We were at Via Galliera 62. No offense, but these scumbags have several locations. It was awful. I wouldn't return to that disgusting, dark hole. How does Booking allow this?

The hotel cancelled a 15-night booking for two foreign colleagues on the very morning we were due to arrive, saying the card was invalid. But payment was meant to happen at check-in. The cards on the reservation are regularly used for Booking.com payments. The staff are impossible to reach and don't answer calls or emails. Dishonest and scammy. I strongly advise everyone against booking here.

My reservation was cancelled less than 24 hours before arrival because they said my card was invalid. It's a card I use everywhere and it's perfectly fine, and I was meant to pay at the property anyway. There's no way to reach anyone there, and they never reply to messages. They didn't even try: no response to texts, emails, calls, voicemails, WhatsApp, or Facebook. They say “the customer can't read.” What does that mean? The property is awful, and they haven't responded to a single message. Both cards I entered are valid. I used them to pay for another lovely property in Bologna and was completely happy with it. Unreliable, rude, and impossible to trace. Scammers. One star only because I can't give it nothing.

Back to 1983. Strongly not recommended. Hospitality here seems to depend on skin color, which is deplorable. I booked an apartment for someone else. Right after the reservation was confirmed, they asked me to send the ID cards of the guests in advance. A couple of days later, they rejected and cancelled the booking, saying they couldn't accept the card as payment. I called the owner to ask why the payment hadn't worked, and found out the issue wasn't actually financial. It was something formal they'd seen on the ID cards issued by the Italian Republic: the guests' skin color.
