Hotel Pedrini

The location is the main reason to choose this hotel, and the included breakfast is a decent way to start the day even though the selection isn't varied. My room didn't match the room photos attached to my Booking reservation, and the pictures posted there didn't reflect what I got. It looked cheap, old, and not properly cleaned. I arrived on a summer night and wish the room had been cooled in advance. It felt like a sauna when I walked in. There is AC, but it takes a while to bring the temperature down.

The staff were really friendly, and breakfast was nice. The room was clean and had everything we needed, all in a lovely old building in Bologna's old town.

There are plenty of good cafés nearby, and we liked having a balcony to eat breakfast on. The location worked well for us, though the central station is still a 30-35 minute walk away. Getting a taxi turned into a stressful problem. We asked reception to arrange one the night before, but they said to ask in the morning. Then we were told there wasn't a taxi available. Late at night, reception wasn't always accessible either. We nearly missed our connection and flight, though luckily we made it in time. I'd have a backup plan ready, like a bus or walking. Apart from that, our stay was a good experience.

For what it costs, this is a really good three-star hotel. It’s well placed, the rooms are nicely decorated, and the furnishings and bedding are good quality for the price. I didn’t have anything to complain about during my stay and would happily come back to Bologna and stay here again. I’m not sure why some reviews have been so harsh.
